On Tuesday 10 September Clive Freedman QC spoke in the BVI to a group of around 60 professionals, mainly commercial litigators, on the subject of lifting the corporate veil. This followed the two recent Supreme Court cases this year of VTB v Nutritek and Prest v Petrodel. Attendees included lawyers from Appleby, Conyers, Forbes Hare, Harneys, Maples, Martin Kenney, Mourant Ozannes, Ogier, Walkers and Withers. The subject of lifting the veil is one which arises with frequency in the BVI. Clive’s visit reflects Littleton’s commitment to this important jurisdiction and to Littleton’s international commercial practice.
