Daniel Tatton Brown acts for successful appellant in important CA discrimination case

Daniel Tatton Brown, instructed by Sarah Lamont and Jane Wallenstein of Bevan Brittan LLP, acted for the successful appellant in an important case for discrimination lawyers, CLFIS (UK) Ltd v Dr Reynolds [2015] EWCA Civ 439.
The Court of Appeal held (overturning the decision of the EAT in Reynolds v CILFIS (UK) Ltd [2014] ICR 907) that when considering whether a decision taken by a sole decision maker is an act of direct discrimination, it is necessary only to consider the mental processes of that person, and not necessary to consider also the thought processes of other employees whose prior decisions may have influenced the ultimate decision maker.
The case is considered in more detail here.
