David Reade KC appeared in the Court of Appeal in the appeal
of Newbiggin v SJ & J Monk. This was
the Valuation Officer’s appeal against the decision of the Upper
Tribunal (Lands Chamber). The case concerns the correct interpretation of the
rating legislation in the rating valuation of an office block undergoing
