Three members of Littleton namely David Reade KC, Niran De Silva and Georgina Leadbetter have been named in The Lawyer’s top appeals of 2020 https://www.thelawyer.com/revealed-the-top-appeals-of-2020/ They were successful in overturning, before the Court of Appeal, an EAT decision, following a number of earlier EAT decisions in the Royal Mencap Society v Tomlinson-Blake [2018] EWCA Civ 1641. This is a test case on the issue of the national minimum wage and sleeping over workers. The case is being heard in the Supreme Court on 12 and 13 February. The case has wide implications for the care sector, the estimated liability for the industry was £240million if the EAT judgment stood.
