Sally Nailard v Unite the Union
The Employment Tribunal sitting at Watford has handed down
its judgment finding Unite liable for the sexual harassment and sex
discrimination of one of its Regional Officers based at Heathrow. The tribunal
found that three senior officers, including the union’s Chief of Staff, had
discriminated against their own employee, and that the union was responsible
for the harassment and discrimination carried out by its elected
representatives on the basis that they were ‘employees’ and agents of the union
under s83 EqA 2010.
James Wynne acted for the Claimant, instructed by Peter
Emanuel of Richard Slade & Company.
