Littleton delighted to announce arrival of new arbitration silk

Littleton Chambers is delighted to be welcoming the renowned international arbitration practitioner, Louis Flannery KC as a member of Chambers with effect from August 2024.

Appointed as a Silk in  2018 as one of a very few select international arbitration solicitor practitioners, Louis is also well known as the co-author of Merkin and Flannery on the Arbitration Act 1996, commonly regarded as the leading authority on the English Arbitration Act.

As a specialist advocate in commercial disputes for over 30 years, Louis has appeared before many international tribunals and domestic courts including the High Court and Court of Appeal and has been involved in numerous reported decisions. He has extensive experience of international commercial arbitration under major international rules (LCIA, ICC, UNICITRAL, SCC etc). He is a regular speaker on arbitration and civil fraud at conferences all over the world and a team coach for Inner Temple at the Vienna Vis moot.

He was named as a leading individual in commercial arbitration in Who’s Who Legal Arbitration Lawyers and is ranked as a leading individual in commercial arbitration by Chambers and Partners, Legal 500 and Global Arbitration Review.

Speaking about his decision to transition to Chambers, Louis Flannery said, “ I have enjoyed my time at Mishcon de Reya immensely  and throughout my entire 34 year private practice as a solicitor . However, the call of the Bar was becoming too loud for me resist. I am hugely excited about the prospect of joining Littleton as part of their arbitration team. “
