Martin Palmer Successfully Represeents a Member of Parliament in Sex Discrimination Claim

Martin Palmer has successfully represented a Member of Parliament in relation to allegations falsely pursued by former employee claiming sexual harassment and constructive unfair dismissal. The Southampton Employment Tribunal determined that the alleged act of harassment had not taken place. The Employment Tribunal similarly rejected the Claimant’s complaint of unfair dismissal in its entirety.

The case was, until the Tribunal handed down its judgment, subject to a restricted reporting order but was subject to extensive press coverage (including prominent reporting in the Times, Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail and Sun) during the course of the Hearing. Martin was instructed by Burges Salmon LLP.
