In her latest blog Professor Erika Szyszczak examines how the EU will negotiate trade deals after Brexit. The exclusive competence of the EU to conduct trade policy is limited and where mixed agreements are used, which require consent from national governments, there is the risk that a minority within a Member State can block an agreement which has taken many years to negotiate and conclude.
