On Wednesday 16th November, Littleton was delighted to host Russian Law Week 2016, in collaboration with the Bar Council. Russian Law Week is an annual event bringing together Russian and UK legal practitioners and business representatives to promote legal links and business between the two countries.
During a session chaired by Sir Michael Burton QC, Rupert d’Cruz & Andrey Zelenin) discussed various current issues in Russian Dispute Resolution, including freezing orders, witness coaching and credibility, differences in business practices, and new trends that are emerging in the English Courts in the context of Russian litigation. Sir Michael also gave the packed room of attendees his insights and reflections on the numerous landmark Russian cases over which he presided during his judicial career.
The event was one of a number of events to mark the return of Sir Michael Burton to Littleton full-time as an Arbitrator, following his recent retirement from the High Court Bench [Click Here for details].
