The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care v PPE Medpro Limited

Charles Samek KC and Ashley Cukier, instructed by Daniel Astaire from Grosvenor Law on behalf of PPE Medpro, will appear in the Commercial Court in June for the 4-week trial of the Secretary of State for Health & Social Care’s claim relating to PPE supplied to the Government during the Covid-19 pandemic. The high-profile claim, for in excess of £120 million, alleges that gowns supplied by PPE Medpro were not sterile and/or failed to meet other contractual requirements so as to make them unusable. The Government seeks return of its initial spend, together with alleged multi-million pound costs in connection with the storage and disposal of the gowns. The claim is defended in its entirety by PPE Medpro on the grounds that the equipment, as supplied, was entirely compliant with the contractual requirements.

Jinxin Inc v Aser Media, Media Partners and Silva, Marco Auletta, Riccardo Silva Holding Designated Activity, Riccardo Silva and Andrea Radrizzani

Nicholas Goodfellow is lead by Ruth den Besten KC, instructed by Sue Thackeray and Richard Clayman of Kingsley Napley to represent one of the defendants Media Partners & Silva, LLC in a multi-million pound claim of fraudulent misrepresentation and unlawful means conspiracy brought by Jinxin Inc in relation to its purchase of a majority stake in a sports media rights business. This is listed to be heard on 3rd June for 16 weeks.
