Benjamin Gray was proud to help represent the Employment Lawyers Association team at this year’s Law Society Excellence Awards. The team were “Highly Commended” for their Employment Tribunal Litigant in Person Support Scheme (ELIPS) in the Pro Bono category. Benjamin was invited as the volunteer with the joint highest participation rate in the scheme.
The ELA Pro Bono Committee established this scheme to assist unrepresented litigants in London Central and Cardiff Employment Tribunals. Counsel and solicitors advise and represent litigants in person at preliminary and short hearings on their allocated day. ELIPS has the support of the Judges at the Employment Tribunals, and is being run in collaboration with the Bar Pro Bono Unit, LawWorks (the Solicitors Pro Bono Group) and the Free Representation Unit.
