David acted for well-known property entrepreneur, Nick Candy, and actress and singer, Holly Valance Candy in successfully applying to strike out a claim for £659million brought by Mr Michael Brown.
David was instructed by Daniel Astaire of Grosvenor Law.
Mr Brown claimed he had agreed to sell Mr Candy’s penthouse apartment at One Hyde Park and that he had suffered massive losses as a result of that agreement not proceeding. The claims were disputed in full.
Following a hearing yesterday, 16 December 2025, the High Court in London delivered judgment dismissing all Mr Brown’s claims on a summary basis and finding them to be “totally without merit”.
David also secured indemnity costs for his clients, an order that Mr Brown pay them 100% of their costs of the proceedings within 14 days and an extended Civil Restraint Order against Mr Brown.
David’s clients’ consistent position as to the lack of any merit in Mr Brown’s claims has therefore been entirely vindicated.
