Eleena Misra elected to the Bar Council & appointed as Vice-Chair of the Law Reform Committee

We are delighted to announce that Eleena Misra has been elected to the Bar Council. Eleena will serve a three-year term, representing all barristers in England and Wales, commencing January 2017. As part of her portfolio of activities, she will be Vice-Chair of the Law Reform Committee and, amongst a number of different projects, will be overseeing work on the reform of surrogacy / fertility law and regulation. 

Eleena is a specialist in employment & equalities law, professional discipline and judicial review. She is noted in the directories for her particular reputation and expertise in the healthcare (she is qualified in forensic medicine, as well) and education sectors. Eleena has appeared in a number of important cases in these fields and regularly writes and lectures in all her principal practice areas. Eleena is also a go-to senior junior in cases requiring urgent injunctive relief, particularly in connection with NHS and other medical cases. Eleena is an experienced independent investigator often sought after for sensitive and complex matters requiring multi-disciplinary expertise. She recently delivered a lecture series on remuneration in the City and is adept at giving strategic advice in a commercial context.
