John Mehrzad has been appointed to
the Independent Review Panel jointly commissioned by UK Sport and The British
Cycling Federation to consider what needs to potentially change culturally
within British Cycling’s World Class Programme.

John specialises in sports, employment and commercial
law. He has particular expertise in legal issues arising from equalities and
discrimination and selection disputes in sport. He has been awarded ACQ Sports
Law Barrister of the Year in 2015 and 2016, is an independent Chairman on the
FA’s anti-discrimination panel, and was appointed as an advocate to the London
2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth
Games. He has acted before numerous sports-specific panels including the FA,
Premier League, RFU, UEFA, FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
