Jonathan Cohen is currently mid-trial in the High Court, acting for Glencore Xstrata Plc and instructed by Howard Kennedy FSI LLP in its defence of a claim by Andrew Kearns, formerly employed by it as an oil trader. Kearns claims that he was wrongfully dismissed for alcohol related absences and that he is entitled to shares now worth circa 8 million USD. The claim has been widely reported in the national and international press, including The Times, the Daily Mail, the Observer and the Evening Standard. Judgment is expected later this week.
