Following eighteen months of litigation, the London Central Employment Tribunal has issued a public judgment that Antonio Conte was unfairly dismissed by Chelsea FC and that he be awarded the maximum compensatory award and a basic award.
“I am very pleased with this outcome” commented Antonio Conte. “I am sorry that it became necessary for legal proceedings to be issued. I am pleased that this brings matters to a conclusion and I am very grateful to my legal team and the League Managers Association for their support”.
Paul Gilroy QC and John Mehrzad were instructed by Matthew Bennett, Phil Bonner and Helen Littlewood of Centrefield LLP on behalf of Mr Conte. Lindsay Gordon led for the LMA.
