The Terms of Reference for the Sethi Investigation into unlawful discrimination at Yorkshire County Cricket Club (“YCCC”) have today been published.
The independent investigation, chaired by Mohinderpal Sethi KC, has been commissioned by YCCC following widespread media coverage of the club’s mishandling of its investigation into allegations of discrimination and harassment brought by former player Azeem Rafiq.
On 15 November 2021 a dedicated ‘Whistleblowing Hotline’ was set up to receive formal complaints of unlawful discrimination as a result of any act or omission of YCCC. The Sethi Investigation will investigate and determine those complaints, together with any other complaints referred to it by YCCC.
Mohinderpal Sethi KC is leading a team of specialist Littleton barristers, Ashley Cukier, James Green and Alex Francis, who are experienced in handling sensitive and high-profile sports investigations. They are instructed by Howard Kennedy LLP.
